Dear Henrietta,

Although I made it through my New Year’s Resolution for a “dry January,” giving up drinking alcohol proved harder that I thought.  When I’m home alone, it’s easier, but when I go out with friends to the bar, I feel really awkward.  Can you help?

Signed,

Boozy Bachelor

Dear Boozy Bachelor,

First of all, good effort!  You’ve set a goal and you’re working towards it!

Here are a couple of ideas:

• Choose downtown bars that have an excellent selection of Mocktails and alcohol free alternatives.

• Baxter’s 1892 has some very unique offerings:

º The Hot 4 Todd – Earl Grey tea, lemon & our house-made warming spices

º Boba Boat – Pineapple, lime, coconut water, crème de coconut, orange &
        passion-fruit bursting boba

º Can’t Torch This – Lemon curd, almond milk, house vanilla syrup & a toasted
        meringue crown

• Cypress Hall also aims to please with THC choices:

     º Citrus Peach Kaya 10 Mother Earth | Kinston, NC 5mg Delta 9 THC + 5mg CBD

     º Strawberry Lemon Kaya 10 Mother Earth | Kinston, NC 5mg Delta 9 THC + 20mg CBG

º Huckleberry Lime Kaya 10 Mother Earth | Kinston, NC 3mg Hemp Derived THC

• The Old Pinnix cocktail menu is always an adventure, and mixologist Natasha is a master of creating a drink based on your personal taste. Try a spirit-free version of a Dragonfruit Basil Smash, the Raspberry Cilantro Fizz, or a Floral 75.

So there you are!  Problem solved. I hope this helps, and good luck!

Love,

Henrietta
