Pet: Happy

Happy is an eight-year-old Jack Russell/Dachshund mix, rescued from a “no-kill” shelter in Okeechobee, FL.
The beginning of the relationship between Susan and Happy is a dramatic one: “Happy was pregnant with very large puppies when she came to the rescue and went into labor at night when no one was there,” says Susan. “She was rushed to the vet, barely alive. The vet did a C-section and two puppies were removed who did not survive. Luckily, Happy did survive and I was able to bring her home.”
“Happy loves her walks, but especially loves going to doggy daycare at All American Pet Resort. She is truly a sweetheart and always gets lots of enthusiastic remarks on her report card from daycare,” says Susan.
Happy loves to give kisses but her special talent is she can jump at least three feet high! As a reward, she gets her favorite treat: Dr. Marty’s Essential Wellness freeze dried dog food.
“Happy is my emotional support dog,” says Susan. “She never met anyone she didn’t like. Her tail wags constantly and you just can’t be sad when she’s around!”
