Highland Echoes Jennifer LickoAwarded ‘Celtic Album of the Year’ by Celtic Music Radio and nominated for ‘Trad Album of the Year’ by TRAConnect, NC folk singer Jennifer Licko, has as strong relationship with the music that traveled over with the Scottish settlers. Jennifer is an exceptional vocalist and multi- instrumentalist who plays the piano, guitar and bodhrán (Irish drum). Jennifer returns to the stage of Orringer this year with an expanded group of musicians and Scottish Dancers to feature the music and dance traditions of Scotland.

“Performing Scottish music, dance and language is about connections. I am an American with Scottish heritage and I am connected to the Scottish culture in a way that thousands of other Americans are connected. I created the group Highland Echoes to honor and preserve these meaningful traditions that belong to you, me and countless others.”

Highland Echoes performers: Jennifer Licko, founder & lead vocalist; Sandra Gribbin, dance director & choreographer (championship dancer); Robert Noble, Musical Producer and Arranger; Pat Mangan, Fiddle (two-time All-Ireland champion who currently tours with Riverdance as fiddle soloist and musical director) Patrick Doocey, Guitar (An All-Ireland winning multi-instrumentalist); Daniel Gohn, Percussion (Daniel represents the finest of Brazilian percussionists); and, William (“Bill”) Caudill, Bag Pipes (Director of the Scottish Heritage Center at St. Andrews University in Laurinburg, NC and Instructor of the St. Andrews Pipe Band.)
