Dear Henrietta,
My husband and I have been married for 15 years, and things in the bedroom have gotten… predictable. We love each other, but I miss that spark! How do I suggest spicing things up without making it awkward?
Signed,
Fading Flame
Dear Fading Flame,
Oh, sugar, 15 years is a milestone, but even the best bonfires need a little kindlin’ to keep ’em hot! Henrietta’s mixed up more than a few “love potions” in her day (wink wink), and trust me, reigniting that spark doesn’t have to be a big production—just a dash of mischief.
• The “accidental” adventure: “Forget” your usual routine and surprise him with an impromptu picnic under the stars in your backyard. Pack some bubbly and whisper, “Remember our first date?” Let nature (and nostalgia) do the flirting for you.
• Henrietta’s mixology magic: Whip up a signature cocktail—call it the “New Bern Nectar” with a splash of something fizzy and forbidden fruit. Serve it with a sly smile and say, “This one’s guaranteed to add some fizz to our evening.” Who knows where the bubbles will lead?
• Improv dance detour: Channel my favorite hobby and suggest a “private dance lesson” at home—dim the lights, play some sultry tunes, and let the moves get a tad improvisational. It’s fun, flirty, and far from predictable!
Keep it light, and that flame will roar back. You’ve got the heat, darlin’—fan it!
Love,
Henrietta
